Our female-led team of SCA Professionally Certified Roasters, Brewers, and Baristas takes humble pride in every batch of coffee we make. Working in harmony with the farmers who nurture and grow the coffee we roast, brew, and sell, every bean that comes through our door is given the respect and attention it deserves. We craft each roast for those who feel just as at home in the backcountry as they do in the cafe. Through daily tastings, we ensure that every roast we present to the world is of the highest caliber we can deliver.
Snake River Roasting Co. nurtures a culture of curiosity, humility, inclusion, and gratitude to work in the wonderful world of coffee. Every day, we strive to be better: better roasters, better brewers, and better stewards of our environment and community, both at home here in Jackson, and around the world.
Since inception in 2007, founders Ruth Ann Petroff and Mark Barron sought out passionate individuals dedicated to continuing to hone their craft. In 2021, Ruth Ann and Mark promoted team leader and dedicated roaster, Cait Brooks, to General Manager and turned over ownership of Snake River Roasting Co. to Mekki Jaidi, who had been a long-standing top customer. Mekki also owns Outpost Group, a Jackson-based company that supports a portfolio of brands, including Outpost, Snake River Roasting Co., Provisions, Terrain, and O2 Cleaning.

Through Onyx Coffee Importers, we have partnered with a team of female producers around Huehuetenango. This year, ELLA is a blend of coffees from three women-owned farms: Jovita Castillo, Finca La Joya Grande in Santa Rosa, Nuevo Oriente, Rita Cohen, Finca Santa Rita in Fraijanes, and Sofia Plocharski, Finca Armenia Lorena in San Marcos. We are incredibly proud to partner with these women and share this delicious coffee with you!
"Across Guatemala, women are the majority labor force on coffee farms, from picking to export. And around the world women comprise up to 70% of farm work while owning disproportionately few assets and land. Despite limited access, discrimination and violence, many women have forged their own paths for their families through their coffee farms. As part of our initiative to diversify our sourcing, provide market access, and highlight the stories of powerful women, we bring you ELLA - Women Producers of Guatemala." -ONYX COFFEE
Ella is a light, juicy, and smooth coffee. With splashes of bright, citrus flavor and a well balanced finish, it has quickly become a favorite in the SRRC tasting room. Love this coffee? You can also enjoy a strong component of ELLA in our Lithium Blend.

This Colombian coffee, a Gesha variety from Finca El Vergel in Tolima, has a distinct flavor profile featuring strawberry, pineapple, and dark chocolate notes. Its unique taste is due to a carefully controlled 52-hour anaerobic fermentation process, followed by intermittent drying and 45 days of stabilization to enhance complexity. The Red & Yellow Caturra, one of El Vergel's flagship coffees, is grown in a micro-lot surrounded by Guava trees, contributing to its intense, fruity profile. The estate's unique two-step anaerobic fermentation and sun-drying process help to bring out the variety's attributes and unique flavors.
